We first worked with Gem some years ago when she created the Youth Work Unit’s first website, we have continued this useful working relationship ever since and are very happy with Gem’s work and the website.

We have had numerous comments about the website, particularly our opening page with its dancing people, created from a real photograph of young people from Rotherham on a youth exchange.

Gem has been very easy to work with, listens to what we want and then comes back with more than we had thought of ourselves. She has made things as simple as possible for us to maintain and has kept us up to date with the easiest ways to add information and links etc.

What she doesn’t know about IT and the web doesn’t seem worth knowing and she is very helpful in trying to find solutions to problems. She is very flexible and inventive about how things can be done, particularly on a low budget. She is creative and has an excellent visual eye so she adds a dimension beyond your own thinking.

I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Gem and Aark Design to others, not least of all because you will enjoy working with her.

Aark Design has produced our brochure, adverts, business cards, e-mail marketing and web-site and we have been delighted by the results which she has developed in partnership with us. She is very keen to work in partnership with her clients so that the output continually develops - as ours has and is.

Here at BHT Sales Support Ltd we have been continually impressed by her professional attitude and her knowledge of what is available. She will investigate different options on our behalf so that we can have a budgetary choice and she helps us with our decisions.

I first came into contact with Gemma a number of years ago when I commissioned her to work with our organisation on a website for the Youth Work Unit which is based in Leeds. Some years on this site is still being used and I know the client is still very happy with it.

Right from the start Gem was reliable and conscious of doing the job to a very high and
professional standard. Gem is an outgoing person who believes in the empowerment of the client, giving them the tools so they can get on and use a website as a productivity tool, she was very clear at explaining the process the organisation needs to go through to get to the end result. She was also keen not to create a dependency on her, the designer and this makes her very useful to an organisation like ours which is very much about learning and empowerment

What also impressed me about Gem is her ability to think outside of the box, she is creative and keen to experiment with ideas she has seen or thought of and this greatly assisted us when we are working to such tight deadlines.

I involved Gem in a number of meetings with the client and whilst working with them I observed Gem to be clear, concise, reassuring and very professional. She has taken on a 2nd project with the client which has meant she has needed to be more diplomatic at managing herself in a complicated office environment.

I have been very impressed with Gem and this has led to us working together on other projects, you normally have to search quite hard for the right people who believe in the true principles of empowering the client but it is fair to say with Gem we have found a gem.

I have absolutely no reason to question or doubt Gem’s honesty and integrity and I would highly recommend her to future clients.
